Ready and Waiting

The midwife has just been to visit me. All is well. She was surprised at how low down the baby is now. He/she is fully engaged and really low in the birth canal - ready and waiting.

Exhausting Week

Had an exhausting week. TJ's blood sugars went wild last Saturday, and are only now starting to come back under control. Some days shes had over 20 blood tests per 24 hours. We've had to give several extra injections during high patches, and once had a hypo (low) so bad that TJ was barely conscious.
On Friday the Dr decided to make some changes to her insulin regime . These have now been phased in and we're hoping to get the dose balance right soon.
Baby due in just over a week, so stable blood sugars are a must.

New for Old

This old bottle, with new contents needed a new label. So I used some digi-scrapbooking stuff and some fancy fonts to create a pretty label for it. I printed it out on sticky paper.

Oh and the contents? Vitamin E - Hand & Body Oil: the recipe is 4 tsp Almond Oil, 5 drops Lavender Essential Oil (antiseptic), 5 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil (anti bacterial & anti fungal). Make up a batch as small or large as you like.

Lucky Dip Refill

I'm preparing the PC and my EDH for a backup again. I've found a few things to refill the Lucky Dip up with. It includes some fully printable background papers and bits that should be of use to all my paper scrapping friends, as well as us digi-scrappers.
(don't think I'll have enough stuff for another refill until the summer, due to expected bundle of joy - so the link will be valid for over a month. Please don't share links - send your friends here instead)

Labour Bag

Packed my first bag today - the labour one. Contents:
  • 1 set newborn baby clothes (the same set both TJ and Roo wore the first time)
  • 1 crib blanket & 2 sheets (our hospital doesn't supply baby bedding)
  • Something to wear in labour (Daniel got a free large T-shirt at a conference. I rescued it from the scrap bag for using to give birth in. The logo reads "where heros are made" - I thought that would be a great statement to make.)
  • Towel, soap etc for me
  • 1 set Loose clothing for afterwards with nursing bra & breast pads
  • some Post Partum sanitary wear.
  • 1 bar 85% cococa chocolate
  • 4 fruit/nut/cereal bars. - they don't have gluten free food available on the labour ward.

ATCs and Card Making

I showed TJ some ATCs today. I told her that she could make some with the scrapbooking, and then we could print them on sticky paper to make her very own stickers for her card making projects. She had to start straight away, and these 2 cards took her most of the afternoon. A very happy making time, she's now proudly showing them to Daddy, who's just got in from work.

4 weeks to go and counting

Wow - only 4 weeks to go and I should be holding our new bundle of joy! Time to run through that to-do list and find out whats left (light blue text is completed) . Edited Sunday 6th April - newly completed tasks in light green

Young TJ is learning how to digi-scrap. Her mouse control and letter recognition (keyboard) are improving so there's less hands-on mummy help now. If you are interested her latest creations can be viewed here:
