Crafty Recycling

I just found this cool craft projects site. It as a whole section on things you can make to recycle stuff that would otherwise go in the bin. These should keep the kids and I busy.

First Five

I found this on a DeDe Smith's blog (I love her digital kits and TJ is a big fan) and decided to play along.

So the first 5 people to respond to this post will receive something made by me especially for you. Of course there are some restrictions and limitations:
1} I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2} What I create will be just for you.
3} It will be done sometime this year.
4} You have no clue what it will be... it may be a recipe, poetry or an article of philosophy. I may draw or paint something; I may bake or sew something and mail it to you. It might be digital, it might be tangible. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure.
5} I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.

The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must re-post this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on their blog. It should be interesting to see what I can come up with...are you brave enough to join in on the fun?

Sledging Fun

The kids had loads of fun with their new sledges. Daniel took them to the foot of the Wrekin to ride on them. Here's some pics I just downloaded from the camera.

What a lot of snow

I know some of my readers see loads of snow all winter long. But that's not the case for us. Snow normally falls 2 or 3 times a year and lasts for 1 maybe 2 days. Well this year has been an exception. The latest snow-time began last Sunday afternoon, and it's still here. Overnight snow showers have been ensuring the kids wake up each day to a garden full of fresh clean snow.

Yesterday Daniel took the afternoon of work to do some chores, and play with the kids out in the snow after school. Yes - our local primary school stayed open all week - one of the few.

A lady in our church has found some sledges in a clear out and kindly offered them to a new home - ours! Daniel's taken the kids of to get them now. So more pictures to come soon.

Wonderland

We took the kiddies on another adventure on Saturday - to Wonderland. It's a small children's theme park in the centre of town. Now that Roo is learning nursery rhymes, and TJ Fairy Tales it was time to go and visit. Being off peak and rather cold the park was fairly empty. But the rides were still running and there were no crowds to worry about.
