Today's challenge over at
CKC is to take inspiration from a scarf. I bought this scarf in Moscow not long after we got married. The craft stalls at the market were crazy. They were used to American Tourists and automatically thought we were American. They had some "English" and kept trying to sell to us in Dollars which is illegal and, with conversion rates, more expensive. They took some persuading that we didn't have any Dollars, only Rubles, and then that we were prepared to haggle rather than pay the "silly tourist price". Some also couldn't seem to understand why we didn't want to buy Matryoshka dolls of American or Russian Presidents, we got a more traditional one later on.
Despite my limited language skills, when I saw this scarf on display I managed to point at it and say show in Russian. I really like the rich pattern and colours on this scarf, it reminds me of much of the art I'd been seeing etc.
For my scrapbooking inspiration I took the edge floral border, a shaped journal mat, symmetry, and some lace. As I was playing with the kit's "a day in the life" theme and photo ideas, I collected together some photos of my youngest doing her most favourite thing in the whole world: dressing up. She wears her outfits more than she does her day clothes.
Everything from Ju Kneipp's old p365 Mega kit that forms the base of my CKC kit this month.
