My name is Angela, and I am married to a wonderful man called Daniel. We live in England with our 3 active children ( TJ, Roo, and Tisha). TJ and Roo have type 1 diabetes, and we are all on a gluten free diet. My son, Roo, also has Aspergers. We have 3 other cherubs growing up in Heaven that we will be reunited with one day.
When I have the time I enjoy digital scrapbooking and various crafts. I love mixing and matching paper crafting and digital - what we call hybrid. I used to do loads of embroidery, but it's now a bit more sporadic and my sewing machine gets dusted off and used occasionally. We spend a lot of time on family adventures and in the kitchen; my husband is what I'd call an experimental chef. Healthy eating is one of his passions and we have found that adding raw food to our diet (25 - 50% raw) makes managing the kids diabetes easier.
Why Toucan Scraps? When I first started blogging I chose to use the Toucan for my blog site, because it's my husband's favourite bird/animal. In the past when we've briefly discussed setting up a family website, Toucan kept coming up in the options for names, and themes. So the Toucan was to honour my husband in my blogging. My main hobby is scrapbooking so I named the blog Toucan Scraps and News, a place to share family news and my love of scrapbooking. Over time I became known as Toucan Scraps and when I started designing it became my design name.
I love to teach and write tutorials on my blog and occasionally have projects published elsewhere.
In the past I have been part of the Creative Team at RAKScraps, and a designer at 3Scrapateers, FaithSisters, I Did It Creations and Stichy Bear Stamps. I also used to write exclusive tutorials and get to take part in the awesome projects gallery at Christian Paper Crafts. I have previously contributed articles to the Through the Craft Room Door Magazine.
I'm now the Marketing Director at Scrap Art Studio.
I also help co-ordinate Merdith Cardall's Junior Scrapateers. my Princess TJ is a Junior Scrapteer.
I am a "Master Forger" at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog, where we show you how to use up your crafting stash and reproduce the latest craft trends and fashions using what you already have to hand.
